  • Cirklon's battery was type CR2032 until 2024, when we changed to type CR2450.

A 2mm hexdriver or allen key is needed to unscrew the Cirklon metalwork.

  • Some earlier production Cirklon 2s have developed a problem with the backup battery holder detaching from the mainboard, usually discovered as the owner tried to replace the cell.

Owners who encounter this issue should email support@sequentix.com to arrange for repair under warranty. There is no time limit for this, as it is a production issue.

Current production has switched to a larger CR2450 cell in a through-hole holder to eliminate this problem.

  • If your PSU is having contact issues, check if the power socket on the Cirklon has the centre pin squeezed together.

The pin is split into two halves to contact the inside of the barrel plug.

Sometimes inserting a plug at an angle can push them together enough to make for poor contact.

  • Compare your socket to this photo.

If the gap in the pin doesn’t look as wide, you can spread it apart by gently inserting a screwdriver or the tip of a knife into it.

  • A basic model Cirklon can be upgraded by fitting a CVIO board inside the Cirklon.

Fitting the CVIO board yourself is quite straight-forward if you have basic technical skills - no soldering is required.

  • This tutorial video demonstrates the installation procedure.

The CVIO board is available in our online shop.

  • You can download the latest Cirklon firmware update from our forum.

Once the file has been downloaded, the update can be installed via SD card or MIDI sysex transfer.

  • This tutorial made by Cirklon owner Charlie Norton shows the process of backing up and updating your Cirklon.
